All young people will need to bring their personal equipment and should be encouraged to pack themselves. This list is only a guide and will depend on season and location.

Complete uniform

Scarf, hat and gloves

o

 Plenty warm sweaters, jumpers or sweatshirts. Fleece material is best.

o

Sun hat, sun cream and sun glasses

o

T-shirts or similar ( synthetic better than cotton)

o

Sleeping bag-3 season at least.Extra fleece blanket.

o

Trousers or shorts (Jeans are not easy to dry if they get wet and can lead to cold - best to have synthetic materials overlain with waterproof trousers.

o

Foam roll / karrimat/airbed/thermarest - we will have pumps.

o

Spare underclothes (one pair per day plus one extra)

o

Plate, bowl,( or 2 mess tins) mug and cutlery - enamel, metal or plastic

o

Spare socks (one pair per day plus one extra)

o

Tea towel

o

Nightwear-PJ's or shorts and t-shirt

o

  Torch and spare batteries

o

Hike boots or strong shoes

o

Personal first aid kit

o

Waterproof (coat and trousers)

o

Day sack and plastic drinks bottle

o

Swimwear and towel

o

 Line rucksack with black bin liner to keep clothes dry.

Hankies or baby wipes

o

No electronic games.May bring mp3 player if it helps them get to sleep listening to music.

o

Personal washing requirements and towel

toothbrush and toothpaste.

o

 Bring carrier bags for dirty/wet clothes.   

o

   Toilet roll    

o

 Any medication should be clearly labelled in a tupperware box and given with instructions to First Aider on site.    

It is best to pack a rucksack that you can carry on your back. Suitcases are not suitable for tents.

All items should be clearly labelled with the young person’s name.

Scouts may wish to use their own tent- make sure it is waterproof enough - but for health and safety reasons will have to share with another scout.
